Ladder League Format
Men and women will play on separate courts. Each of the 6 designated courts will represent a tier in the ladder league.
Key Points:
There is no need to find a partner for this league! Each week you will play with multiple different partners that are a similar skill level.
All match results will be entered into DUPR. If you don’t have a DUPR account, your scores will be linked to your email within the DUPR system.
Players will remain on the same court for the entire evening, playing 5 to 7 games each night of the league.
If a player misses two consecutive weeks or fails to notify us in advance of an absence, they will move down one tier.
In case of cancellation due to weather (icy or snowy roads), we will not be able to reschedule the missed week.
For the first week, players will be assigned to a tier based on the skill level they selected at registration.
After warming up, players will proceed to their assigned court. A clipboard at each court will provide the game schedule and matchups. At the end of each game, one player from the winning team will circle the winning team and record the score.
Each week, results will determine whether a player stays in the same tier, moves up one tier, or moves down one tier. Movement is based on the winning percentage from the previous week compared to the other players on the same tier. In the case of a tie in winning percentage, the player with the higher average point differential will be ranked higher.
For Week 6, we’ll host a double elimination tournament! The top three tiers will compete in one bracket, while the bottom three tiers will compete in another, ensuring players face opponents of similar skill levels. Teams will be formed on the spot, so no need to find a partner! The tournament will begin at 6:45pm. after a warm-up from 6:15-6:45pm. Play will conclude by 8:30 p.m., as usual.
Prizes will be awarded to the top performer each week and to the tournament winners!
If there are 5-6 players assigned to a court, games will be played to 11 points, win by 2. If there are only 4 players, games will go to 15 points, win by 2, with a 5-10 minute break halfway through. All games follow standard pickleball rules as outlined in the USA Pickleball Rulebook.
All rules and the ladder format will be reviewed again during the first week of the league.
All ladder league rules and format will be explained again in week 1 of the league :)
